About Funding Forum UK

Our Goals

The inspiration for Funding Forum UK comes from Michael Donovan. He has run a community kitchen in Bermondsey, South London for several years, and understands the need for businesses and organisations to connect with each other.

His project, Bermondsey Community Kitchen is a non profit organisation that focuses on providing cooking training programs to disadvantaged individuals between 18 and 40 that need the opportuinity for a fresh start.

You can read more about his work on the Community Kitchen website here.

The concept behind this site is to develop a simple easy to use charity forum that connects organisations, businesses and people all over the UK.

In addition to seeking funding oportunities for his Bermondsey Community Kitchen project, Michael often found himself searching for groups that would welcome receiving  food, items of eqiupment, furtiture or unwanted building materials that would help the members of local projects.. He found the difficulty was in quickly finding and contacting them. There are many support groups making a big difference all over the UK. The challenge for many, is to connect with more groups that may be very local and wish to give, or groups that would welcome donations.

For this forum to work, greating local groups is the key. For example, offering food or items in London will not help members in Glasgow, so smaller groups that connect local givers to local receivers will need to be developed.

We also hope to help connect grant funders with groups that may be eligable for funding, but were not aware of the opportunities..

Developing this forum will be a challenge, and the most important element that can make it a success is you.

Please join and ask others to join and we can make adifference to those who need help.
